How you kissed me strange to prove you were mythical

Forest! Like I promised. I tend to mix pretty things with bits of edge. Thus, I own basically lots of lace, sheer things, leather, and boots. I think I'll start sharing other things- I make lots of food, jewelry, decor, and sometimes I paint things. Since we're in that vein, I'll post a starter.

Here's a seared tuna filet (not to be confused with fillet, ha- sorry, nerdy joke) that my bf and I made for dinner last night. It really was just as delicious as it looks (if not more). And this is my favorite way to eat tuna, actually. I'm a huge fish/seafood fan (half Japanese, after all...), though this basically ties with smoked salmon bagels as my favorite semi-cooked fish dish. Okay, I'm done talking about fish. I think.

and then there were 8

Shot these yesterday in my bf's backyard. The past week has been pretty brutal, since I'm not used to waking up early anymore and still insist on staying up late. Went and saw SuckerPunch - meh, grocery shopping (bought oatmeal and apples, feel like a little kid again!), and made plans to go hang at a forest today.

The bird skull is from Etsy, dogtag has my name on it, and denim shirt Urban Outfitters. Oh, and yes, that is a rock in my hand in the first shot.

photo diary - sxsw

This pretty much sums up the part of the week that I spent in Austin during sxsw. Life is pretty good when you have a million cats to play with, flowers to touch, people to see, lights to be mesmerized with, and of course music to be heard. Being from Austin, I tend to not spend money on the event-- more just like to drift from place to place (the free ones, of course) and take in all the amazing culture that the city really is. But of course, there is the downside that during the week, tourists pack the place, which means bad traffic, unbelievably impossible parking, and herds of people who don't really "get it". Don't get the "weirdness", why anyone would bike 11+ miles to work, the street art, etc. It's good to be home, though. Travelling does get tiring. But after a pretty depressingly unproductive week, I'm almost ready for spring break to be over with. I might regret that statement soon, but Monday, here we come.

Well, this looks like a duck

A little more abstract than usual- snapped these at the lake near my parents' house. Stole the vintage Italian gold cardigan from my mom.

Five years by your side so I know you really don't mind

One of my biggest childhood regrets is always going to be that I never had a treehouse. I promised myself that when I get a house, the first thing I'm going to design and build is a treehouse. And since we're already down that lane, other regrets include not eating more seafood, leaving my stuffed orca at the airport, etc...

This coffeehouse in Austin is basically just a treehouse. It's called Flipnotics, for anyone who ever gets the chance. I wish I had more shots of the place, but I think I was too busy trying to capture how eerie and cool smoke looks on film. Oh well. These were shot a while back, when my hair still felt more natural lighter; I don't really touch it anymore, it just sort of evolves into its own ways. Enjoy <3
