Beware of darkness over your shoulder- dance along the edge

A couple of weekend shots. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, almost warranting putting aside all tasks and having a goddamn picnic. Which is something I've been dying to do for a long time now. That and visiting the Grand Canyon. Starting to think it'll never happen.

Recently, it seems like a lot of the television shows and movies I've been drawn into watching are all either about the end of the world/ post-apocalyptic or cooking meth. Except for Godzilla 2000, that was a bit of both. Horrible movie, by the way. Ugh.

I like how these photos turned out. Enjoy.

Joey, I'm not angry anymore

I know it's January. It feels like spring, and this must be the most awkward seasonal transition ever. Not that we really get seasons in Texas, anyway.

Monday you can fall apart, Tuesday Wednesday break my heart

I took a few shots of my animals the other night and like how they turned out, mostly. Softened up the exposure to get the old film look. This isn't even the whole family. I have a problem- I want to adopt everything that catches my heart, which isn't hard to accomplish if you're a cute furry little creature. The Siamese kitten, Tomi, is our most recent. The two ferrets are Ume (who I have the most photos of- she's undeniably photogenic and I have no idea how she does it) and Fufu (who I swear I didn't name, and he's the little one inhabiting the alligator).

We don't need no walkie talkies, no. No walkie-talkie.

These were taken during a random stroll through a park before going out for really delicious Tex-Mex. It's actually kind of sad that certain foods fill me up so quickly- I'm usually done after queso compuesto and can barely touch the huge entrées they tend to serve, much less dessert. Why am I still talking about this? To be honest, I have no idea what I'm wearing. I tend to pick up all my clothes while thrifting or along the vintage shops that line Montrose. It's made for a pretty interesting collection of god-knows-what. At some point, I owned a pair of Harley-Davidson leather overalls.

Anyway. My favorite part of this mesh-shirt-blouse-dress that I really don't know how else to describe is the hood. The day was overcast, which make for the best autumn shots in my opinion. It's indescribable, there's some sort of cheerful gloom about it. This should be enough for now. Oh, and sorry about the double outfit posts. I'll try to mix it up more.

From dust to the Beyond

It's been forever since I've wanted to start this and I realize that I've never properly introduced myself on here. So here goes. The concept for this blog has been an ongoing project for as long as I can remember. I've always wanted to document everything I see and do, in the most aesthetically pleasing way I can imagine, and share it somehow for the world to see. Gosh, I really never meant for it to sound so cheesy, but honestly I don't really have a set direction for any of this or any idea how I really wanted my first words to sound. I guess the bottom line is, I just wanted to take pretty pictures and post them online.

All my posts are full of things I love, whether be random objects, pretty scenery or architecture, my love for fashion, or whatever the case- I believe photography is the easiest way to capture anything in that specific moment where it all feels some sort of perfect. Maybe I'm just rambling again.

Cheers. And here goes. Hope someone out there enjoys. :)
