mt rainier
End of Seattle posts.
2-hr drive from the city to the outskirts of Mt. Rainier National Park- so worth it. Canada ain't got nothing on this place, seriously. Was thoroughly surprised to see snow, apparently some of the ice caps hadn't melted this late into the summer. Ate a meal from Whole Foods next to a waterfall, and wholeheartedly tried not to trample through the pretty meadows. Lots, and lots of snowball fights. It was sunny, and now looking back, so surreal to see myself in shorts in the snow. But I swear- I was wearing a sweater and wool tights, which I stripped off once we got to the mountain, and it wasn't cold whatsoever. This is hence proven by the photo of me drinking a chocolate milkshake, haha.
And I am SO glad I packed and wore my Doc Martens- seriously some of the best anti-slip, ice, chemical spill (though I haven't tested this one out yet) boots ever. Getting ice IN the boot isn't so much fun, however.
Best trip ever.
