every single night

More shots from around the cabins. The Sabine River ran across the back of the cabin grounds, and there were a few trees that had begun to change colours. The amazing thing is that during our stay, we noticed more and more red and orange as the days went on and the nights got colder. Excuse my dressing like a 90's punk grunge kid, tends to happen when the weather gets colder.

scenic overlook 1 mile

I have a knack for pulling over at scenic picnic areas or overlooks right at sunset. This time was no different. Popcorn clouds are one of my favorite kind of clouds, preceded by Matisse clouds and cumulus clouds.

foxfire

The cabins we stayed at during a weekend excursion out in West Texas. Took a few days off to relax and enjoy some wilderness. It's so beautiful out here, hard to imagine it's still part of the rest of Texas, or in any way related to Houston which is flat and has all of 2 types of trees.

Lost Maples State Natural Area is known for the trees that change colour in autumn, which is one of the things I miss most about living up north. Took a 1000+ photos over the course of the days, so bear with me as I try to sort them in a way that makes sense. Here's a few for now :) cheers.
